Portrait by Kayoko Suzuki-Lange

Poul Lange is a Danish born artist based in downtown Los Angeles whose work is rooted in traditional, analog photography, sometimes combined with collage elements such as botanicals or vintage paper ephemera.

Often his work utilizes a multi-faceted viewpoint, achieved by creating overlapping exposures directly on the negative film. He was born and raised in Copenhagen, has a degree in graphic design from the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen, and has studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York.

His work has been shown in numerous galleries in Europe and the US.

Tapping into the power of layering and slicing, my images weave observation and introspection to expose the enigmatic nature of humanity. Driven by curiosity and a dedication to kaleidoscopic perspectives, I find inspiration in the natural and urban landscape, looking for vulnerability, endurance, impermanence, chaos, and harmony.
